No 1: Marble Restaurant, Rosebank
Marble, situated on the Keyes Art Mile, offers something different to its diners. Chef David Higgs and Gary Kyriacou have chiselled out a fiery culinary destination in Jozi’s dining scene and pay homage to our national (and natural) pastime of open-flame cooking.
The centre stage of the kitchen is the much talked about Grillworks, a wood-fire grill that enables you to control the flame and heat by elevating the grills on a pulley system. There is also a wood-burning oven where breads are freshly baked and the vegetables cooked. The menu at Marble Restaurant is not dominated by meat, vegetarians and pescatarians will find a wide variety of choices on the menu.
